New Spyder 3

We are happy to announce that the new Ozone Spyder 3 is here!

The Spyder 3 offers massive improvements in handling, launch behavior, and top speed. The first things a Spyder pilot will notice is better inflation and launch characteristics, and significantly more agile and precise handling. The Spyder 3 is designed for pilots of all abilities, from newly qualified to advanced. It is a dedicated paramotor wing with a full reflex profile. Based on the Roadster 3, the Spyder 3 uses a carefully selected blend of lightweight cloths for the main surfaces and ribs, with optimized internal construction, reducing sail weight and pack volume. The lighter sail is a positive all-around, with easier launch, a more agile and responsive feel, and improved passive safety (reduced sail inertia).

FELIX WINS AT HOME

After winning the first stop of the Spanish League in Algodonales, Ozone team pilot Felix Rodriguez continues to dominate the national league by winning the second event in his home state, Castilla de La Mancha.

He reports:

Caudete is the last town between Castilla de La Mancha and Valencia. It is located in the beginning of the main plato of La Mancha. It is the first time that the Spanish league has been held in this area, even though this zone offers a massive potential for XC flying.

We flew 4 out of 4 days of competition, with great conditions and high cloud base. Actually we had to be careful and avoid to pass the maximum altitude restriction.

I led the comp from the 2nd day only a few points ahead of Mika and Wilfred. On day three Wilfred won the task, but received a penalty for breaking the max altitude. The last day was a fast task of 60 km in which the lead gaggle pushed bar 15 km from goal barely making it to final line. In the end I won the task to get the final points to win the comp. It was an honor to win …read more

OZONE CHABRE OPEN 2019

The 14th Ozone Chabre Open has begun!

Task setting, briefings and de-briefings are being led by the inimitable Jocky Sanderson. Jocky’s skill and experience in cross country flying, SIV, safety and training, his enthusiasm to help pilots improve and his animated briefings and de-briefings truly make the competition the best learning environment for any budding competition pilot and even for experienced XC pilots. Plus, he provides great entertainment for everybody.

The Ozone Chabre Open has always been a Serial Class event. This year the organization is going one stage further, restricting the competition to Sport Class and below. No EN-D class gliders allowed! Pilots will still be scored by class. There will be prizes for winners in each glider category: Fun, Recreation, and Sport, determined by aspect ratio and certification, plus prizes for the girlies and rookies.

THE X-ALPS 2019 HAS COME TO AN END

The world’s toughest adventure race has come to an end.

From the 9000m of vertical ascent athletes completed in Switzerland, to the long-distance flights across the main spine of the Alps, the 2019 edition was, once again, a level up.

Maxime Pinot (France-2nd), Manuel Nübel (Germany-5th) and Gaspard Petiot (France-7th) made it to the raft in Monaco on the Ozone Zeolite. Impressively, Chrigel Maurer took the overall win again.

Congrats to all the athletes that participated in this amazing race.

PWC PORTUGAL 2019

The Paragliding World Cup in Manteigas, Portugal will take place from the 29th of June to the 6th of July 2019.

Serra da Estrela is one of the Paragliding World Cup’s favourite mountain ranges having held competitions there in 2005, 2010, 2014 and 2016.

Take off is on the east side of the Serra da Estrela mountain range but the tasks will be, for the most part, over rolling hills, with a dry, arable landscape giving plentiful thermals.

Serra da Estrela is well known for its 100km+ tasks. It can often be quite windy so the tasks are frequently fast and furious with a long downwind component and a remote goal.

Many of the pilots taking part this time have already got a proven track record of flying well having come in the top ten here in the past.

The level of pilot is going to be one of the highest in the 2019 World Cup circuit. 9 pilots have got AA letters and 9 have already won a World Cup. Podium places are going to be very hard to win.

The best in the World are coming from all over the World with 125 pilots taking part from 25 different countries; from as far …read more
